In between loads of laundry tonight, I drew the nearest thing I could find - a few sticks from a bundle of dried spice bush berries I have hanging in my kitchen.

Last winter my son went sledding. I wasn't there, but he tells me he was on a super fast run toward the end of the day. He dodged a tree at his super fast speed and steered his way to safety by slipping down low under a bush.

When the sled stopped, my son saw he was surrounded by spice bush berries. He picked a bunch of the twigs, brought them home, tied them in a bundle with a purple twisty-tie, and hung them up in the kitchen.

When I took down the twigs tonight to draw, I said, "Where did we get these twigs anyway?" He told me the whole story of the super fast sled run that I missed last winter. I was probably doing laundry.

  5. I was especially impressed by the way you placed the letters, scrunch together just enough to be interesting, but still legible.
    Great page altogether!
