It's raining here again today. I don't mind the rain, under a hat and umbrella and with shoes I don't worry about, but the rain does put a damper on drawing outdoors.

I walked around the park trying out different spots to prop my umbrella so I could draw without holding the umbrella, but the endeavor was a disaster.

So I headed to the bus stop, sat in the sidewalk shelter, and drew what I could see across the street.
One bus driver opened the door at the stop and said to me, "You getting on?"

"No," I said, "I'm not getting on."

"You're not getting on?"

"I'm not getting on. I'm just sitting here."

"You're sitting there?"

"I'm sitting here."

"You're sitting there."

Then he shut the bus doors and drove away.
Number 2 pencil in Moleskine sketchbook. Spill stain from coffee along the edge cropped out.

  1. I love your drawing, the brickwork is great! Silly bus driver - how many times did he really need to be told you were just sitting there and not getting on? Lol.

  2. I like this one too. Sounds like you really stumped the bus driver! I guess he did not know what to think! Or maybe it was just a slow day and he had no one on his bus to talk to?
